Hi All

So my front 2 tyres needs replacing. R5600(Minty's):argh: for both 225/40/R18 RunFlats , can I consider second hand tyres about 70-80% Thread . It is just the hassel of finding them , most of the 2nd hand tyre shops , they have but dont know if trustworthy as wont know if they are rethreads and defected tires .
Do you guys know of any good reputable second hand tyre shop ?

My back tyres are still fine like 65% life.
R5600 is a lot ! I see on gumtree there are few and I got quotes of R2000 for both with 70% life from someway near Tuffontein:fencelook::fencelook:

and from Mag and Tyre in Pretoria R3000 for both 75% Life

Please help guys if you know anybody reputable:fencelook:

Thank You and Regards

Exactly! Why would someone replace tyres with 60/70% thread?:nonono: Your, and the lives of passengers are worth more than R5500....

Hi Guys Thank You

tyrez.co.za is expensive 3000 each

http://www.errolstyres.co.za/tyre/bridge...635/826120 is cheap with 2000 each.

Thank You , but my back tyres are still fine alot of life , just the fronts got a bubble on it . I cant put only new tyres in the front and keep the 1s at the back therefore looking for something 2nd hand with that life 70%

Why cant you?

I would rather have new tires up front & 70% tires at the back instead of getting some second hand tires for the front

2nd hand tyres :nonono:

The thing is, you have no guarantee of how they were treated whilst on the previous car..
its not worth it in the long run as you will have to change tyres sooner anyway...

Different age / tread back and front is fine; just not different tread / type / profile either on the same "axle"

I've burnt my fingers buying 2nd hand tyres... (on this very forum I might add...) rather just get new tyres, as expensive as it might be. But if you're keen to go 2nd hand... i saw this thread a little earlier... http://www.bmwfanatics.co.za/showthread.php?tid=49898

Thank You all for your responses
Guys I see all my tyres are Potenza’s grade RE050A (Passenger High Performance ) . I think I will take your advice and get brand new tyres for just the front .

I see there is Potenza’s RE050 @ R2k Each … Will putting these different grade tyres affect the car ? coz it seems like RE050A is Passenger High Performance and the RE050 is Passenger Ultra High Performance

I just want the change the front , all my current tyres are RE050A

Just check the load and speed ratings... Re050 is probably still rated way above your car mass per wheel and above the max speed of your car... so it's most likely safe
