Thanks Moranor! Out of curiosity why don't you like the Contis?

Oh and as an aside would you know how much I can expect to pay for Rear trailing arm bushes and Rear shock mounts?

most bushes seem to cost about R400 each i have not priced to bushes you asked about so i cant tell you exactly how much :) pm EMI he should have...

i find contis not to have much grip in the rain or the dry... well least the two different types i have used... dont get me wrong they not bad, but they just seem exactly average for the price they go for...

I hear you, they are quite costly, but we aren't spoilt for choice around here. The only other tyres readily available in that size were Dunlop SP9000s, but y'all did a pretty good job of putting me off Dunflops!

Do poly bushes live up the their hype?

Good thing you stayed away from Dunflopz

I also got Conti Sport Contact 3 on my car but 235/40 all round :=): on hot and dry road the handling is excellent but in heavy rainy weather rear tends to slide out, not too sure if its the tyres or rtabs or both thats causing it.

Rtabs on a Sedan at the stealers is just under R600 for a set, not sure if coupe uses the same

im only using poly bushes because im drifting the car... if i was not i would stick to the heavy duty rubber kind... the poly bushes are hard and they compromise the ride... they are awesome for the track though

also the poly bushes will send the forces other places and wear your rubber bushes faster... so its best to start with the subframes and work your way to the wheels...

Doomsdaya@ So far I'm loving the improved braking, ABS doesn't engage at every touch of the brake pedal, and even the pedal feel is better.Still an ever so slight vibration under hard braking though, probably the bushes. Will have them by next Wed, can't wait! All going to fit Redstuff pads all round to work with the OEM discs, so soon I won't be afraid to drive it like I stole it!!
Yeah the stealers quoted me R291-00/per RTAB today, I ordered and should be getting them on Wednesday also.

Moranor@ Ok ok fine, OEM bushes only!
Are you drifting in that 323i?

"Are you drifting in that 323i?"

Right now OEM rubber is the most readily available, and I really can't afford to put it off, I'll just have to upgrade at a later stage.

I'll say this again - there is NO SUBSTITUTE for new rubber! I'm never buying second hand tyres again...maybe next time GOD will really bless me and give me Pirelli P Zeros!!!!

Drifting neh? Practice makes perfect so big lots it is! Speaking of suspension, will the fitment of new shocks cure all the body roll and sway (esp. at the rear)? What about anti-roll bars? And does a strut brace really give noticeable stiffness?

Is that 323i your daily drive??????
