Tyre pressures for e90

Hi guys. Stef here. Was wondering if anyone could advise me re tyre pressures. I have a 320i auto running 205/45/17. The sticker on the door post says that the pressure should be 2 bar for the front and 2.3bar for the the back. My car is heavy on fuel and thought these pressures might be one of the contributing factors. I've heard of guys running their 320's at as much as 3 bar all round. Is this an acceptable pressure and will it have any adverse effects on tyre wear? I'm the only one in the vehicle 99% of the time. No passengers. Would appreciate comments.
In anticipation, thanks

I think 3 bars is a little high, would start killing the center of the tyre.

I go by what BMW say on the inside of the door, they probably know best.

What do you classify is heavy fuel consumption?

I'm getting around 10.5 around town. I am very light on the right foot. Keep RPM below 3000 and keep with in the torque band of 2800. I sold my 323i e90 a few months ago and with that I was doing 11 per lt.

The tyre size of 205 45 17 sounds incorrect for the E90.
This should be 225 45 17. The inside door card also has the recommended tyre sizes.

My apologies. The size is 225/45/17. Would you suggest I stick to these pressures. I have heard of others driving with higher pressures and getting better consumption. If one is to stick to what BMW say, what else could be causing the high consumption.

Can anyone help with the high consumption. Any ideas what is causing it. I do not have any codes appearing on the dash.

The E90 320i isn't actually an economical car due to the power to weight ratio of the vehicle. 10.5 around town is somewhat on track as to where it should be.

Okay. Just thought it would be better, given that my 323i gave me 11 around town. But thanks for your comment.
