Hi All,

i pray someone here can help with some knowledge.
my 120d every now and then goes into limp mode, bmw did diagnostics and said its the turbo actuator and they say the entire turbo needs replacing because you cannot buy an actuator separate. for the past 3 months it would only go into limp mode maybe once every 2 weeks. it would go into limp mode as soon as i reached 180kmh, if i decelerated a minute later it regained power. it has gotten worse now as it stays in limp mode Fault code that shows is 4CD0: DDE: charge-air pressure actuator?

can anyone help

Regards

There is a company in the UK somewhere that can fix the actuator but obviously one will have to contact them to hear how and what they need in order to fix yours. Saw it mentioned in one of my BMWCar mags or TotalBMW, but will have to go through them as i cannot recall in which one i saw the company mentioned. Otherwise, it is a complete new turbo, sorry. Think it is a Mitsubishi turbo, and not Garret as on most of the diesel BMW's. Try Google for the address of the company.

Obviously BMW would want you to buy a new turbo. We had the same issue with a Mitsubishi Triton and ended up having it fixed for around R2k at Stallion Turbos in Pretoria.

Maybe give them a call - I am sure they will be able to assist.
