Traction issues at tarlton

Hi guys,

I just want a few opinions on how to get more traction at places like tarlton.

On a normal road, by 3rd gear im 1 car length ahead of a friend with subaru wrx...but at tarlton he runs 14.5 and me 14.6.

I cannot get power down there..

My car is a 335i auto...201kw on wheels and 445nm..

Should i not be getting in the 13's?

Currently i have runflats.. can I put semi slicks with runflats in the front for tarlton days? Any input will help, thx

Run flats have a hard side wall so lowering the tyre pressure isn't going to help as much as you would like.

Traction is a bitch... Hahaha

There is no way around it, but you going to have to change to proper tires and even then, if its not a prepared trac you will always struggle to find traction!

Is your car manual or auto?

Autos you must launch in 2nd, brakeboost to 1800rmp and SLOWLY ease into the throttle, SLOWLY

Or spend 13k on a diff and 5k on proper tires...

I only mamaged 13.7 on a friday with runflats, so goodluck

Remember on the street if you drive up to someone your tyres are warm already. At Talrton esp on a Friday night, they ice cold.

My advice is not to go through the water but around it and do a dummy launch before the lights to get some heat in the tyres

ran a 14.4s with stk N55 auto .. traction is a problem so i pulled away 1/2 throttle then floored it ..

I was just wondering, wouldnt a broader tyre be better?

Would a 285/30R18 fit the 18 inch msport mags at the rear?

I seen a few guys had that on an E46 M3 so it should work

So nobody uses track bite?? :dunno:
I remember in the olden days when I was still doing the Tarlton and ODI stuff, I use to mix sugar water and spray that on the tyres, because it makes it a bit more sticky...

What is the best time achieved for a stk n55 or n54 1/4 mile?

Also, does the 135i come with a traction control switch?

Im sure it has the traction button, but at tarlton that button limits the car alot..Dunno any times for stock 135's but I saw a stock one run 14.1 on the quarter mile...:fencelook:

I ran a 14.2 at 167 at tarlton on my stock N54 with run flats and without brake boosting......it was my first time so I think I couldve improved with good starts

cois. How much sugar and water? Should I just spray it on before I leave or do a burn out with it?
