Tracker are incompetent.

to cut a long story short see my mail sent to tracker yesterday.... and yet i still had to phone in and follow up, which led me ripping a new one to the poor lady on the other end of the phone :RedNo::RedNo:
Why oh why do we have to go to such lengths just to get service in this country.

:smashScreen:

Good Day (And this is addressed to the CEO [email protected])

Please note that to date I have not been contacted with regard to my tracker not being able to submit a signal. I contacted tracker as I did not receive a self test SMS this year at all. Being it December, I contacted tracker on the 9th of December to ensure my tracker is operational, and as per the below mail received on the 11th your network could not pick up my signal. I have responded on the same day to address this issue, and to date no one has contacted me to make arrangements for the manual test. The unit is just over a year old and I’m concerned that it fails so soon.

From day one I had endless headaches with tracker… from damaging my vehicle during fitment and now this. I quote your site on about “why tracker”

why would you choose Tracker? Besides the fact that we’re one of the leading car tracking companies in South Africa, we’re also dedicated to offering safety and security to our customers using our precise tracking technology. As one expansive team, Tracker is dedicated to keeping our customers safe and saving them money through the following key areas:

To me this is false advertising and misleading the public, as clearly, tracker is not dedicated to keep our customers safe… if this was the case I should have been contacted already to have this issue rectified.
Please could someone be made available to assist me by no later than 19th December 2014 by 11am latest and the call out fee waivered, considering I have waited this long, and honestly I do not have peace of mind knowing that my tracker is not operational.

@Carol. Hope you well. Please can you let me know which other tracker companies are approved by my insurance (Santam). Tracker has till tomorrow on the time specified above. If they do not honor I would like to switch trackers to either matrix or netstar (Whichever is approved by Santam), as I cannot go on paying for a service that I do not receive.

Hi Vinny.

I spoke to the contact ceo people. A tech is on his way to you. The call out fee is waivered. If the unit is faulty they will swap the unit for free as well.

I get ur concerns. I rather refrain from commenting on anything future.

Just thought as a fanstic I would step in and assist where possible.

Thanks man.

I Concur

Their service is probably the worst iv come across.
I signed up In January 2014.
I was not told that my first payment would be double as you pay in advance.
come March my debit order was duplicated again and had to wait a week before money was refunded (apparently this was done to all members)
Then in august there was a price increase of over 13%.
again I was not informed of this upon sign up.

I requested a contract cancellation in the beginning of September, I was contacted 2weeks later with an amount to be paid for cancellation, I replied for the amount to be shown how it was calculated.
I was never contacted again, I followed up and gave the lady a piece of my mind, I was told her manager will contact me before the end of the day, its been over 3 months now and no feedback at all!!

UTTERLY USELESS!!!!!!!

Tracker are just useless, earlier this year my cuz from durbs came to visit here in jhb, he then used my bro in laws bakkie to go see some chick in midrand, after a while we could not get hold of him or the woman he went to see and we got worried, my sister phoned tracker and they say that they cant see the bakkie anywhere, nor can they give us any last addresses as they could not pick anything up for the vehicle for about 2 days. The bakkie was in vorna valley, and they could not pick it up, i have since called the tracker, its really a useless service.

On the subject of Tracker, did you know that you insurance company may expect you to test it twice a year? Yes, it is in the fine print!

This was in the news a few days ago. :thumbdo:

A short-term insurance broker has been ordered to pay a motorist R189 400 after the rejection of his insurance claim following the theft of his Toyota Hilux because of the failure to regularly test the tracking device installed in the vehicle.

Ombud for financial services providers (Fais) Noluntu Bam, in a determination released yesterday, ordered AB Insurance Brokers and/or Ahmed Bayat to pay this amount to Neil Venter from Vereeniging.

Venter obtained insurance for his Hilux from Saxum after consulting AB Insurance Brokers and/or Ahmed Bayat in July 2011.

His Hilux was stolen at a retail store on March 2 last year. He immediately reported the theft to Altech Netstar, which could not locate the vehicle due to their inability to pick up the signal from the tracking device installed in the vehicle.

ONE LITTLE CLAUSE

Venter’s claim was rejected by Saxum Insurance, which relied on a clause in the policy that specified a tracking device approved by it must be installed in the vehicle and tested every six months, with proof that it was tested produced and supplied at the time of submitting a claim.

Who is Saxum anyway? Nver heard of them.

Hi guys, thanks for all the compliments but just doing my job,
I hear all the complaints, not to start a debate but I have seen people sign up not knowing what they signing up for,

Example it is a 3 year contract, any contract u want to cancel u will have to pay a settlement if u are still in contract,
Some units are radio frequency based meaning no satellite signal is used, to position a vehicle u have to have a satellite compatible system, the radio frequency units are tracked by the recovery team using a radio frequency tracker,
With regards to testing the system, tracker automatically test all clients units twice a year, if u do not get msg once in 6 months please call in.
These units also are affected if certain mechanical or electrical work is done on the car or if the car is in an accident, the only advise I can give is read the terms and conditions so that u know what u buying,

I am in no way covering up or justifying anything, just speaking in general,

However guys I work for tracker, I am a supervisor in the call centre, so if u have or need any assistance feel free to contact me, I will always assist, I have assisted a few members and will do so for everyone, I can always try to come to a solution that will benefit both the company and client.

Glad vinny is sorted, with reagrds to the other post, my email address is on here send me a mail I will see what I can do, I am at work till the 24th,

Cheers.:ty:

If you insure with Discovery, the rental of the tracking unit is included. They send someone to install it. All very efficient, so far so good.

The downside is that they (ab)use the technology to check that you don't drive like a hooligan. You can check on the internet where all the cars on your policy are and where they have been. A little creepy, that last part.

On the other hand, I once hit a kerb in a shopping mall a bit hard because I wasn't paying attention. The tracking unit sent out a distress signal and I got a call on my cell to ask if everything was all right. Apparently if you don't answer your phone in such a case, Discovery will assume the worst and send someone out to your location.

So true, im laughing reading ur msg, if u read between the lines, a satellite system knows everything, how fast u were driving on which road u were driving, how hard u broke, its called an accelerometer, so if u meet an accident and had a tracker fitted, well well, u get the msg,

They even know when u do mid night runs lol.

Yes, they really do know everything. So if you have a skelmpie, do not drive a car with a tracking unit. :roflol:
