TPMS Sensors

Good Day

Anyone have an Idea if the F30 2013 model TPMS systems works on rotation with the ABS system or are there sensors on the wheels inside.

My display indicates that the sensors are active however, when the pressure drops, I get no warning sound. I can however see when resetting the system that the tire pressure has dropped.

I believe they work on rotation.. Interesting so no alert while driving but when you reset it shows the flat..

It is a passive TPMS setup that compares the rotation distance (circumference) of all wheels in relation to each other, from the time of reset onwards.

If the circumference of one wheel falls out of sync with the others, then a warning will come.

However, if all 4 wheels lose pressure (ie. Change circumference) at the same time, then it will not show any warning.

But, if you seeing loss of pressure on one wheel, only at reset, then something is wrong...

Thanks for the feedback guys.

It was all 4 wheels at the same time. They were all at the same pressure. Ill deflate 1 a little and see what happens.

Thanks once again for the feedback really appreciate it.
