Hi, so I thought I would start a thread on my 2009 E92 with a N54 engine.
Bought the car on 29 September 2018 with 134k km's with no modifications done to the car. The 1st of September I wrote off my Opel Astra due to a drunk driver cutting me off, then I thought to myself I am going to buy me a decent reliable car. First ai was looking for a 325 or something similar but then I came across this 335i 2 door and I was instantly inlove with this car. The car was in Johannesburg area and I am situated in Despatch, near Port Elizabeth. So I had someone go and check out the car for me and they found no issues expect for a few dents and scratches but norhing much. A week later I bought the car flew to Jhb goy the car and drove back home.

Since then I replaced 2 front tires, wiper blades, front brake disc and pads, still have to do the rear brakes im about 5000 km's, also added smash and grab to the windows. Other than that the car has not given me any problems yet. I had all the small dents removed by a local guy and no touch up was required.
The car drives fantasticly and will definitely not buy a non-bmw car in the future.
Fuel consumption is a bit hectic, when I'm behaving I use around 11 - 12 litres per 100km

Will keep you guys updated on all modifications and issues
Thanks for the read:ty:

Very nice car buds,

I also came from a 2004 Opel Astra Coupe Turbo :D

Have a 2009 E92 335i DCT now also, and loving it.
Realised very quickly thatproperly modding a N54 car is alot more expensive than modding an Astra hahahaha. :roflol:

But its fun.

Awesome :bravo: What was the cost for the dent removal? Noticed that I have 2 small ones as well (retards at malls...)

So I was driving home Sunday evening when the low coolant level indicator lit up. I stopped right I away opened the bonnet amd bam no water in the bottle. Called my insurance company which by the way gave me great service regarding roadside assistance. They sent a breakdown and took me home aswell.

The water housing that goes on the head broke, it's a plastic housing and even the mechanic told me he does not know why they make it so cheap.
Only shop that sells it in Port Elizabeth is Bmw itself others do not stock it. Will found out tomorrow about the pricing. Luckily nothimg else got damaged in the process.
All the coils are also getting replaced.

Next big maintenance will be rear brake pads and disc which is a hefty price.

N54 and manual!
What a buy!

Congrats on the purchase!

At least there are options on these cars.
While you busy sorting these niggles out, take a thorough look around the car for any other bits and pieces that may need replacing.
Vacuum piping gets brittle on these cars, so replacing it with new 3mm piping would be a good place to start.
