To spray or not to spray...??

I currently have the style 135 MSport 10-twin-spoke rims on my black Z4 coupe. I stumbled across some pic's of these rims sprayed (almost) black, similar to the M3 Competition pack rims. I'm wondering whether to get it done on mine, or leave it stock silver. Your thoughts on the black-on-black setup? and about how much would it cost to get them properly sprayed? Any good rim shops you guys recommend?

Thanks in advance!

I would just take them to High Tech and have them sprayed in Piano Black.

Ya I'm leaning away from the DIY option... would want to take the tyres off and do it properly if I do it... may do it once I change the tyres, which is gonna be soon. What are your thoughts on the piano black vs. that anthracite grey... it's almost black but not quite, think it's very similar to the M3 dynamic edition rims (or the competition rims... or something :) )

Mines Black...well during the day thenit turns dark bluish purple - but thats besides the point.
On darker cars the silver alloys do look the buisiness but I too dabbled with the idea of piano black wheels against a black car.

Graphite seems to be the middle ground and looks good too

@npower... will have to check it out when I get home :) the pics don't load at work :thumbdo: Thanks for the post though

@ Jerez I think I know what colour you're talking about... wasn't there a similar paint option on the e46 M? well must be very similar... very hot! My friend's got an e46 in that colour with the oem wheels, but polished, like mid-way between chrome and stock silver... also very nice! but I'm not keen on the bling... think I need to have a look at some graphite/gun metal rims in person and decide.

Is the Plastidip reversible?? and if I decide against plastidip... Powder-coat vs paint?? this is getting quite involved!

I like matte black wheels! Easy to clean but a nice anthracite does wonders to the look of most cars and gives great depth to wheels.
