To respray or not to respray??

Hi all! I'm a little stuck at the moment and would greatly appreciate your opinions... I recently bought my very first car - a 2008 BMW 320d M-Sport - problem is, it's paintwork is terrible! I'm either going to have it resprayed, or have it wrapped.... Which one should I go for?

That would completely depend on how bad the paint actually is? Is there rust? Is there clearcoat failure? Or is it just badly swirled and hazy? Many factors to take in consideration. You should only be wrapping over fairly decent paint anyways. One of which is the potential after effects of respraying. Unless you take it to someone that has a good reputation and you can get recommendations from, chances are you will be billed fairly cheaply and might have some quality shortfalls. We have had some guys respray their cars only to discover rubbers, bearings and slides/clips broken or full of overspray.

Likewise with wrapping. At the end of the day if it seems far too cheap, you probably know what to expect. Do your homework.

Personally I’m biased though towards wrapping, not just because that what we do, but because of the customization options there are. Iv wrapped my own car and I would do it again and again before I respray. Personal opinion

post some pics of the bad paint, and then the suggestions can be given accordingly. personally I would only wrap over decent paint work.

IMO I would say respray.

Although wrapping looks great, you'll still have sh!t paint when you remove it. And come time to sell, the money you've spent on the wrap won't mean much.

Rather restore the paintwork, and if you feel like wrapping it for the madness then do it, plus, from your other post(s) if you plan on getting other bumpers, there's no guarantee they'll be in black.

agree with this:withStu:, the wrap is not going to fix the mounds of body filler used or the cracks that will develop. get a decent panel beater to strip of the kak work done, re prep and spray
