A random pic i found that made me take notic the potential of e38! :inlove:

Looks a bit too Non-OEM for my liking :fencelook:

I agree...that picture has lost the "classy-look" and looks like a ghetto lord's car....sorry my opinion.

I doubt that I would lower my E38 at all...it needs to stand tall and proud, not aggressively crouch

I think that look wheel is too new for a E38. Too extreme

Those 18"s offset are suited for E46 and won't fit nice on the arches anyways. Also the PCD is different.

I am one of those people that just cant leave a car alone, never owned a factory stock car. Say. Do it, it has never affected my resale value.

Your car is an expression of your personality, so go with what suits you. As for resale, you won't recover your spend, but you'll find someone who fits your taste. Go for it, just keep the old parts and replace them if needed when you sell. You'll probably use the mod parts on the next one anyway.

The M-Parallels is a winner here, they really compliment the 7series, it has a good balance between sporty and elegant

to answer your 1st question...

do you buy a car to sell it or to enjoy it?

modding is a waste of money when you sell the car but if it gives you more joy while owning it then its worth every cent spent

Romeo as mentioned by everyone, it is your personal taste, i for one love the E38, i think it is the original gangster car, i also like lowered suspension on it with big wheels, but hey thats just me lol... i would personally suggest like Oppositelock the semi clear lights all round with a nice set of oem or even reps of an oem rim on it, as for the exhaust a v8 needs to be heard, but must also still stay classy, so personally i would go for a rectangular style tail piece on one side, maybe also spray the rubber lips at the back and the front in gloss black. justa suggestion, but as mentioned earlier modding is addictive so watch out lol.

Thats an interesting rim. It is still too racy for an e38 BUT it will make it look different for sure.
Maybe someone can photoshop them on your car to get an idea

The thing is people who know are going to know those are the entry level 3 series rims, so it might be a case of 'what's that doing on a 7'? Honestly I like the M Parallels, the E34 540i M also had them and it looks awesome! The M3 rims look too modern for me too.
