To map the 330d or not

As some of you might remember I have a 2004 330d wich was mapped by Xcede some time back and car is running great.
I have now a second 330d, an older 2001 model. These 5 speed/135kw models, how far can you up the kw/nm and still be fairly safe?

hi...

Congrats on the 330D...

Whats the mileage on the motor..and has the Turbo been changed on the car...

I am sure that you can get some huge gains with S/W, and DP... and because its a manual, you should not have the issues with the gearbox getting eaten up with all the extra torque...

The issue with adding software is that it might place additional strain on turbo... though a properly designed map should not cause too much damage to the turbo...

It might make sense to replace the turbo and then remap the car. R10k for Turbo and whatever the tuner charges... will be a great investment in the power, plus the reliability of the car.

just my R0.02

The milage on the car is 138k with full service history. I am not sure if the turbo was replaced or not. I'm so use to my 150kw mapped one that this one feels a bit lazy.

Go to BMW & have them update the software first, read somewhere that there was a difference? think it was in a post about a car Rolf did?
