To disconnect...or not...?

Hey all

I'll be leaving the country for a couple of months and was wondering what to do with my babies (e46 330ci / '97 160i Rolla).

Do I:

1.) Park them off, disconnect the batteries and just leave them alone for six months?
2.) Park them off, disconnect the batteries, and have my bro reconnect the batteries so once a month and take each of them for a quick spin?
3.) Park them off, don't disconnect the batteties, and have my bro start them up to sweet-idle so twice a week and take them each for a quick spin so once a month?

Your thoughts please...including pros and cons.

I'm not sure how the electronics will react do being disconnected. I know some cars used to have codes that you had to put in when battery was disconnected. If your bro can start and take em for a spin, I would suggest that.
