Hi Guys

Need some advice, considering a e87 130i.

Should i buy or not, travel 9km/day, weekend odd run. Need more space than my Yaris at the moment.

Anything to watch out for from your experience on the 130i. I've heard about the noisy lifters.

Also I have searched the forum and googled:rollsmile:

Just looking for your personal advice.

So the 130i is a combination of my previous and current car :) The N52 engine in the hatchback. With really careful driving and about 60% highway driving I get 9L/100km but guys on the forum report 10-11L/100km, with city and traffic consumption going up to around 13-14L/100km, so if those 9kms are in traffic, just know what you're in for in terms of consumption.

The 1er is an awesome car though, I miss mine, even though it wasn't the quickest. So that engine in that car I'm sure will be awesome! My only issue with the 1er was the access to the rear seats was a bit awkward, so if you need to put in baby seats or other stuff, it might get annoying... otherwise

I owned the 116I for two years and it was a pre-owned vehicle, it never gave any problems. :praise:

So if you are looking for a reliable car, that's your car right there, but if you going to be racing AMGs and A5s all over town you might wanna try 335s and 330s :roflol:

Overall its a great car... things to look out for is the consumption is abit high. my bro has one and still loves it to this day. It sounds amazing, that 3.0 straight six tone. I am sure you can find a decently spec'd one now, m sports is a must and a sunroof... colour choices I have seen some unique colours, there was a beige/greyish colour I saw the other day! what a colour!

Buddy i would buy the 130i just for that tone it sounds so brilliant under load. Handles nicely the msport does have a hard ride. But none the less i would say go for it, if there is abit of motorplan left, you can sort any niggles and wont cost you from your own pocket.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Why would a 330 be different to 130? Same engine? But anywho, I aint planning on taking on amgs and a5's. Thou I'm sure it'll bust a c180/200amg.:fencelook::roflol:

Well part in traffic part not. Thanks for the heads up, if I can average below 10l/100km. I'll be happy. I should be able to, hopefully!!! I used to manage 8,5l/100km with an astra opc from fourways to melrose in traffic.

Because there is also the 116i and 118i and the 120d to consider in the e87 production range, if worried about the noisy lifters :tease: :roflol:
