Fanatics Underground had a 100 post count requirement. Why is this one 5 times that?

You were not the OP of the thread although the video is about you. You have a thread you can comment on at on your own forum where you are a contributing member as opposed to coming on here seemingly just to post on this one thread. It had to move and you have clear reasons why. You can't expect to be invited to the dozens of whatsapp groups this video was posted on just because it is 'your video'.

If you look at the date I joined it was definitely not after that post was made. It was long before, when I was looking at buying a M135

And I have a profile at GTI Club from may 2015 with zero posts - logged in right now actually. Most people are registered on multiple forums if they are interested in cars. I'm not a contributor but sometimes like to read some of the threads.

That is my point... and of course we can see when he registered. I would say the same if you were a member for 2 years with zero post count and suddenly responded to a thread. I've explained the perspective as clearly as I can. The issue is not him "stirring the pot" it is soliciting races. Incidentally I even acknowledged that this result is perfectly possible comments are still in the TLGP thread and mentioned that you have to be prepared for anything when you go up against a golf...

However what is rich (and this is the actual issue) is for someone registered in Jan but only posting now to be upset that he can't see the thread in TLGP. Nobody had an issue until races started being solicited. This would have been moved whether he was a 100000 post count member or not (the difference being he would be able to see and continue commenting). Thread is not locked. Posts not deleted.

All this is so petty. Piglet3003 didn't post the Original thread, all he is doing is answering some questions. Who else would be able to do this better?

As for this 500 post count, before you get into the TLGP section IMO is unreasonable. I have my thoughts on this, but I will reserve them for now. It is what it is, and I doubt anything is going to change that.

The person @K_S that started this discussion can't participate. If i am not mistaken, this may not be the 1st time this has happened.

People come here to hear about TLGPS's that went down, its even better when its various brands, various outcomes. Restricting people from accessing this section will not only prevent them from reading, it will also prevent them from posting.

It may not have been an outright challenge, but past experience tells us that his post was leading the thread in that direction.

As much as you disagree with the 500 post rule, it is there for a reason.

If it does get out of hand, the mods will still have control over this section, you can always revert to the 500 post count.

Maybe drop the limit to 250 count and the time spent online should be sufficient like maybe a week at least I am on this forum daily spend a lot of time on here but I hardly post. 250 count and maybe a week of time spent online is my suggestion.

I personally say keep it at 500.

Rules are there for a reason, due to the information in this section, one may want to ensure the integrity of the safety of it.

Just my 2c.

I already have an ankle bracelet with a sunroof, all that's needed is a post made by myself and its a love triangle for an ugly surprise from insurance.

I believe the 500 post count is way too high.

If it is solely a means to separate the true forumites from people looking to instigate problems - is there no other reasonable alternative?

My suggestion - 100/200 post count and registered on the forum for at least 6 months.

I think bring the post count down, but as we once discussed let's keep it high enough that bots aren't able to archive this section. But it is a risk that we all understand and should rather be avoided. But consider it mods:rollsmile:

Just saying folks, its a part of the section which is achieved by becoming familiar and putting the time in.

Surely by the time a member reaches 500 post, he/she would have attended a forum meet up at the very least.

With that in mind, isn't consistent members that are dedicated to the reason for being here be the type of addition one is looking for?

Folks that are in for the long haul, not the hit and run.
