Hi Gents

Im trying to avoid buying a third faulty gearbox :fencelook:

Is there anyway of inspecting a second hand gearbox before purchase? how will I know whether or not it'l shift into all gears and not grind...

Or is this simply a "buy and hope for the best" thing?

Buy from a place that will honour the warranty. There is no way to check without it installed afaik.

Personally i went for the recon route..... its been more than a year now...No issues

When you buy second hand, you pretty much buying "blind" as you don't have history....

You know your gearbox and a proper recon pretty much changes all the vital parts to brand new ones.....

You don't want to be runnning up & down fighitng with shops about them hounouring the warranty and so on if somehting goes wrong

Good Luck:thumbs:

Seeing the bad luck you have had I would opt for a recon. You know what's being done and with a warranty from the rebuild company it's probably the safest bet. My 2c
