E90 320d is a nice car , no two ways about that but one has to bear in mind the costs of repairing and the cost of maintenance on a Diesel.

Once motorplan has ended , one has to look at weather they keeping the car etc. If one decides to keep the car , one has to look at aftermarket warranties that not always pays out a full sume if something had to break.

Not trying to scare anyone but one has to be realistic , injectors for example on a Diesel cost a nice decent figure , in the region of 8k-10k

Even with that said Diesel is the way to go.

BUT WAIT

On the petrol side one can get a E90 320i and have far less costs as painted in the above thread , only downfall will be the lack of torque but hey speed isint always everything IMO. Comfort and Safety plays a major part.

If i had to choose i would say Manual E90 320i LCi , the car is not as bad as people make it out to be and this coming from a person that drives/owns fast cars.

I know theres been lots of talk where even BMW say the E90 320i vs E90 320i LCI is the same motor etc etc . For me not a chance in hell , they are completely two different cars in terms of handling , speed , comfort.

I would highly suggest driving both the Diesel and Petrol LCI. I can almost see the huge grin on your face once you get out of the Diesel but as i mentioned keep in mind the future of the car if you wanting to keep it.

i think that going with the lci 320d or 320i will be a good choice. the diesels are a few generations older now, so alot of the previous problems have been addressed.

auto is definitely the way to go.

with 135kw/ 380nm torque, its got the same power output as the first e46 330d. if youre unhappy with that power, a quick trip to the tuner will see you putting out roughly 150kw and 450nm torque, which will make for a very fun ride.

I think that the 320d will be a good choice for you.

i would reply but i would be echoing his above sentiments, you pick your choice. at 130km/h average, i do 6.1/100km to 6.9l/100km depending on traffic etc, 570km sees me with slightly under half tank on the open road. in town, my best average i cna keep on the car is around 8.6 - 9.4l/100km. i had terrible consumption for a while but then it was my VVT motor that was choking, after it got replaced, this is my current consumption that i get which isnt as bad as before, i wanted to sell this car badly because of the consumption reason and i got greedy for power but the power has improved and the consumption better so now i have settled to keep it.

it truelly isnt as bad but the 320d is definitely a bonus and a good buy buy only if your bank account allows you to hold off maintenance after motorplan is up (this taking into consideration the extention as well)

Cant go wrong with 320 D Awesome:praise: car!!!!!!!!!

Maintenance after Motor plan not that much if you have to compare with MAZDA, TOYOTA, MERCEDES.

Reasonable odd R3500. after motor plan. some even less mine quoted now R2226-00. Depends on how you drive. don't no about the Auto box mine is Manual 6 spd 320d E90. I would not trade her for the World.:inlove: = for got to mention that i get 20.1km/l on open road.

Injectors should last far more than 200 000km.

Also injectors can be cleaned and do not necessarily have to be replaced. And even in situations where there is a problem with injectors, it's usually one or 2 - not the entire set.

Well, 320i's always get ripped off for being slow and so on, but how long is a piece of string?! Okay, at altitude it might be a bit painful, but still going to be so much more rewarding to drive than a Tazz or something that costs the same in general! But if I was looking at buying a used E90, I would pay the extra price for one of the I6's or a diesel!
