Yeah they were hit repeatedly with the ugly stick. The lexus type tail lights did it no favours either.

I love the Ti...

There are some excellent, well maintained ones around. They lack in the power stakes but "generally" they have been reported to be very reliable.

Or was i misinformed?

They awesome cars man! I just dnt like the front head lights but the back is modern and back when they were launched, i used to always think it was a limited edition bmw.

My brother has a 318ti and I love that little thing.

I don't mind driving it instead of my M3, it really is a nippy little car and fun to drive. Only issue is the 318 engines from the e46 series tend to have oil leaks. My brothers car had the issues, fixed them. Otherwise, we've had the car for 6 years now, no hassles.

If you're planning on getting the 325ti... GREAT CHOICE.

Enjoy it.

BMW was not a fan of forced induction back in the day.

TI = Turismo International - First appeared on the 2002Ti and 2002Tii models back in the 70s, IIRC...:fencelook:

Correction: BMW spells it "Turismo Internazionale"

Yip Ti's are non Turbo

Ti stands for Touring International:fencelook: or compact sedan in BMW language, why BMW why:argh:

Also when they were launched I think they were just a few grand less then a full sized 3 series. Would think that would also sway people not to buy them.

I have seen an article that BMW replaced the ti series with the 1 series. I wonder how true that is. I cannot imagine that it is completely inaccurate as the shape is not so far off.
