Hey guys!

Im really thinking of buying a clean E36 M3 and wondering if current owners could give me some advise on what i can expect on general running costs

If something does go wrong is this car hellishly expesive to fix and maintain...

I did brakes now, that was R10000 without discounts. Good tires are about R1850 a pop. Replaced a timing chain tensioner R2000. But overall not that bad. But if you have a dud I would really worry. Can add up in a hurry, I was just lucky to get a pretty clean one. Some parts are really cheap, but then you get some others that beg belief.

the price on maintenance and repairs can escalate if you not careful-
you honestly need 10k-20k (IMO) after you have bought it.
try get the price down and use the cash you save to do repairs.

go over the car with a fine comb- take it to your mechanic to look over.

Luckily, i knew what i had to fix before i bought it, thanks to my mechanic, so i knew roughly how much cash i needed before hand.
soon after buying mine i did the clutch- repaired lights, changed the seals on the timing cover, serviced.
when you look again your cash is gone. i still want to do the exhaust and some serious detailing.

i havent regretted getting mine- the only thing i regret is that i dont get to drive it enough:cursin:
800 km in a year:banghead:
big bummer:hammerhead:
