What do you guys think ? I read they have been the most reliable cars for the past 15 years!

I have one. Bought a demo 2011 model when it was just 3 months old. Now on 45 000km and just had her 3rd service.

Not a days trouble in the last 18 months.

My wife drives it daily and cover about 100km a day between home and work. Average fuel consumption in peak traffic is on average 8.5l per 100 km.

Not a drop of oil or water used.

I love my lancer. Brilliant value for money and i would recommend it in a heartbeat.

Just one little thing. Cabin noise is a bit more than my 540.

And lastly, whatever you do, please buy the manual.

Honda is the most reliable car... get a diesel.... boring as hell I am sure, but will last a lifetime. Check out the Accord.

BUT, the Lancer is also a good car, they have achieved loads in the world of motorsport.

Honda is too pricey, I also definitely vote for the lancer. My dad had one for a week while his car was in for insurance, we drove it down to margate with my M3 at the time. And I really enjoyed the car myself. Has a nice induction noise in stock form as well :) It was the 2 litre manual. Love the car. Value for money at it's best! Get one!

Mitsubishi manual as well - knowing the Japanese cars, this will be super light and easy to drive daily, and light on its feet!

The Lancer is a fantastic vehicle, I have driven a number of Lancers and I can confirm they are unbreakable!
I work for Mitsubishi, the Lancer is an under rated car.

Cvt gearbox. Watching paint dry is more fun.

+1

Excellent lil cars.

However I'll opt for the CVT :fencelook:

Its no good in auto mode but in manual mode you will think its a dual clutch box, changes better than my steptronic in my 330. Very fun but expensive at the pumps.

Just out of curiosity, how are part prices and availability, as you don't see many on the roads. I really like the Mitsu Outlanders and always curious about spares on them.

Mine came standard with a 5 year/ 100 000km service plan.

My motorplan bill came to 1600.00 for the 45 000km service the other day.

Im just wondering how much is all the stuff that isn't covered by the service plan and if the 16k Maintenance plan is worth it. Like brakes and discs.
