Thinking for purchasing a m3 csl

So vin says it was built in 03, but seller says it's '06. Obviously only registered in '06.

Go for a test drive. You can always get rims sprayed back to original colour, take the price of spraying the rims off the sale price.

BUT I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH about checking the car for subframe cracks.

my main question when it comes to the 03 ~ 06 debate is the book value indicator, and price adjustments....

registered is 1 thing, manufactured is another...

if the price diff is a 100 000, wagering insurance cover along manu date... then you are just getting had for a 100k based on the car being registered late...

always keep in mind, from order date to date in country is > 6 months but less than 8,

most of the SA Spec cars had a suggestion of climate pack, and radio options by default...

with an exception of car's number 1 and 2 which just came with 2 sets of rims ( yep 2 sets, road tyres and pilot sport cup tyres )

use it.. dont use it...

The 06 thing is not an issue.

There is also no book value on these cars, so you tell your insurance how much you want it insured for and pay your corresponding premiums.

Yes I know it was manufactured in sept 03, but it cost R940k when new compared to R500k for a normal M3. So the people with common sense rather bought the normal m3.

The CSLs were not limited editions to spite everyone.......

They were just so damn expensive that no one could justify the price and BMW could not get rid of them at that price. That is the reason why a lot of them sat at the dealerships for more than a year before catching a buyer

At that price & with all these question marks I'd rather walk away.

Rather find a clean E46 M3 in Manual for R100k less, pocket the R100k & keep it as your own personal motorplan

Just my 2c

Missing splitter on the bumper.....

I dont know - this just seem neglected and owned by an idiot.

Not worth more than R300k

Make it 250 rather

Thanks guys,It looks like the same car... Well in the pictures I have everything is fixed, I'm going to stay away from this deal, abit to doge for me.... Think I'm just going to settle for an e92 dct or an e46 m3 manual then supercharge it.

Safer option. As much of an icon as the CSL is, you also don't want to be pouring money into a big black hole. And the asking price is already extreme considering the condition.
If all the stuff had been fixed, then he should've put up those pics, not pics showing the car to look rather tatty. Also no pics of the interior, always a worry, same for the engine bay.
You won't go wrong with either an E92 DCT/Manual or an E46. Both epic cars and pretty bullet proof (if well maintained). And for that price, you can get a relatively low mileage 09 E92 with MP.

This is such a depressing sight seeing a legend being made to look like a circus car. These people that own these cars and do shit like this should be banned from society for a lack of respect.

Is 100 000 km's high for a CSL?

I would think its pretty low considering the year. And if the car was looked after it should have hundreds of miles left under the hood.

I know you find those CSL's with way under 100 000km's but... interesting.

Good luck with sale bud, these cars are rare. If I had the cash I would buy it as a weekender and restore it slowly to showroom condition as I plan to do with an E46 M, (Currently searching for the right one)

Also if you buy the car please spray those rims back to stock... I vomited all over myself when i read they were red :D

Omg the pics just loaded... ignore my previous post.

That breaks my heart... a csl in that condition is such a sin!! And that price is ludicrous! :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(
