Think of any high performance car as dating the wrong type of woman.

Yes, you could probably take the conservative "right" option (i.e. drive a Camry/date your mother's friends daughter), but deep down you know that, despite the trouble, having the wrong type of woman/car is gonna be just soooooooo much more fun :fencelook:

Think of it another way, your car is one of the earlier models, and unfortunately with time, things will start to go on the car, and will require maintenance.

That being said. Spending a few bucks on maintenance now and then is definitely cheaper than a monthly car payment. Plus if you want a new one, it's the wrong side of R500k. Plus there's always that monster called "Residual" which can tempt a person into doom and gloom a few years down the line.

Bummer that a whole lot of things have gone wrong at once, but I agree with the others - fix it and keep it.

You won't get a worthwhile price on trade-in, and will get even less if they know the car being traded in has problems.

Driving any toyota is more like dating your sister rather than your mothers friends daughter...

Don't sell over such relatively minor faults, you'll be kicking yourself within a month! Try Gizmo for repairs/advice, if he can't help, I'm sure he can refer you to someone. Good luck!

im with everyone else,
when it comes to a car like this (a special one) its way more worth it to you to fix it then to sell it off and get something else
re-sale wont be what you want and worthwhile considering what you would have paid initially for the car,
rather fix

and finding the right mechanic makes all the difference

hope you come right

SMG in Cape Town has a special tool for valve stem seals replacement that does not necessitate the removal of the cylinder head. I’m pretty sure someone in Johannesburg has a tool like this. :fencelook: My car just came off plan on Monday and I got the car back on Wednesday after spending 3 weeks at the dealer with almost R70k's worth of work done on her.Last year in August the bill also came in just under R60k,so she's like a new car now
