Im abit fed up at the moment so this post is more a cry for sympathy than anything else! Hahaha. So 2008 BMW 335i, ive loved her since the day i got her and had many happy kilometers so decided to keep her even though motorplan recently expired.(stupid, STUPID!!!) now currently we sitting at - shocks, valvestemseals and realized this morning the rattling i hear is probably the vanos seals(AWESOMe!) and then the light for a service just popped up 2days ago aswell.

So all previous love, enjoyment and peace of mind has flown out the air leaking sunroof!! Anybody wants to buy her??(just joking ne!)[/align]

Shame dude. Perhaps give Tune Tech a call. They're pricey but they specialize in BMW repairs and servicing...
Hope you come right! 335i is a special car. Needs special attention...

Don't sell Stefan

Most people sell their good when problems occur but then regret it because sometimes its just a simple fix

Think about it before you sell and remember who's got first option :tease:

JHB has plenty independents to keep the car healthy... soon as a car drops off MP it looses alot of value you better off keeping it a bit and enjoying it...

Thats the thing moranor i am NOT enjoying it at present. Coz i dont have time to hav the car in and out of workshops the whole time and replacing valvestems takes forever apparently and even in jhb the guys are not very keen to do the job. Car has been to tunetech from monday till today. Today im at powerflo exhaust again and then tomorrow its going back to tunetech for a week hopefully they can then sort everything out because when im back from leave and its still not sorted i really dont see many other options

your choice but i would not let 3 little problems make me sell an otherwise good car... if it was constant problems then i would look at it...

Thats the thing by next friday im coming bac from leave and then the car would have been with a good mechanic for 2weeks straight. If not sorted by then, what should i do? Give it 3weeks at the workshop? Also not the first time its been into a workshop or back to place for checkups etc.

I would fix the car and take it from there... its easy to get down on a car when its giving you large bills and down time... but i dont see this as being a continuous thing ether...

two weeks from now you will probably be loving every second you spend in the car...

Ive had 3 major down times on my car so i know how you feel

6 speed conversion: 3 weeks (damn engineers took forever to alter some linkages)
custom exhaust: 2 weeks (I was not willing to comprimise)
subframe rip: 5 weeks (got messed around by different welders for a few weeks)

but the car so makes up for the bad times and its been a good few years since i have had any down time

Mmmm These problems don't seem too serious.

Go check out Crash_Nemises thread with his M3 Jezebel Engine Rebuild, The ordeal that guy went through with his M3 was something else!

Allot of people including me were suggesting he sells the car, but he stuck it out and took the patience to fix it and now he has a very cool M3 with no hassels, well as far as I know.

So what I am trying to say is that, sometimes fixing a car is better than outright getting rid of it because you think the problems are too much. IF you think about it, if you try sell it as it is you wont get much for it, If your going to finance the next car the money you will spend financing it will out weigh the money needed to fix the small problems you have on this one.

I say keep her and fix her up. Ive sold some cars over the year because of the way you feeling now. Then in a few days after the sale i see the car again and its looks better than ever. So step back and think clearly. This is just maintenance. She has given you all the fun in the world so she needs some tlc. Give her that and she will return the favor. Strongs hang in there:thumbs:

This is my dailyrunner guys so thats why 2weeks in a workshop is abit of an issue! I need to get to work and back everyday. And some extra bad news im currently sitting at powerflo exhaust to sort out a rattle, now te guy says the exhaust backbox is broken!! See more problems. Atleast tey can fix it easily, thanx to Rolf for some quick advice.

Think of any high performance car as dating the wrong type of woman.

Yes, you could probably take the conservative "right" option (i.e. drive a Camry/date your mother's friends daughter), but deep down you know that, despite the trouble, having the wrong type of woman/car is gonna be just soooooooo much more fun :fencelook:
