As some of you might know im new to BMW (first one ever)

What is the things i can do to improve, better, tweak my 330i to make it better. Im referring here to DIY mods mainly but any other recommendation would really be appreciated. Are there things i can or should change to improve the car etc.

Im refering to things like CDV delete etc etc.

I look forward to your guys replies:thumbs:

Oh and compliments of the season to you guys and your families may 2013 be a better year.

if i had to do it all again this is what i would do...

a baseline dyno run first to see what you working with

1. Service inspection 2 including the fuel filter
2. Vanos seals and rattle kit
3. Inspect/repair disa flap
4. Centre decat and replace with resonators
5. Replace headers (tnt/viper/oem 328i catless headers all work equally well)
6. Measure fuel pump pressure and ensure you getting proper 3.5bar pressure
7. CDV delete
8. clean MAF with liquimoly areosol cleaner

redyno again..

enjoy your car!

3.38 Diff Ratio. Decat exhaust. Unichip. If u running a 5 speed, first change to 6speed.

2.93:1 ratio as standard on a 6-speed 330i to a 3.38:1 ratio is a bit steep if you ask me and then you can say bye-bye to that good fuel consumption on the freeway.

short ratio diff

one day when im rich :roflol:

listen i havent forgotten about the bushes from you im just strapped for cash at the moment and i opted for a holiday hence me not buying it over the festive season:rollsmile:

so i will be in touch in the near future:thumbs:

i would much prefer doing the above things that kish mentioned as they not 'that' expensive

K& N filter?? Induction, headers

will def consider headers in time to come or at least a decat

i read that the isnt much gain sometimes non at all with an induction over stock box with OEM filter, so i wont bother with that will stick to OEM looks nicer:thumbs:

What Kish said

Just add pulleys and short ratio diff to that and you will have quite a broad smile on your face every time you drive the car

Would love a short ratio diff but not on my daily drive.. I get great consumption on the freeway with mine and the torque curve is flat enough to haul the car around in 6th on the freeway all day.. A set of pulleys won't be a bad idea if they were more affordable/available locally...do not use an oiled filter because that will kill your maf..so stick with OEM there..lastly s good diagnostic check will tell you if the are any gremlins hiding about in your ecu..

The K&N filter has been debated to death, BMW performance part basically rebrands the K&N filter and sells it to their customers. Get one now & clean it regularly/correctly and you won't have a problem.

As for other mods, you need a CDV delete as well as a clutch stop. Makes shifting so much better, my E46 had way too much dead travel. My E90's CDV made my gears 'sticky' but since I removed it, I have a huge smile on my face everytime I shift

Sank has a 3.38 on his 330i he has not mentioned a massive increase in fuel consumption

I saw a drop on my in consumption on my 2.5l with a 6 speed conversion and a 3.38...

2nd hand diffs can be found for around R1500 at scrapyards
Rennzport sells clutch stops, but they can be easily made at virtually minimal cost

Depending on age and wear if you want to improve your handling change the following

Front lower control arm bushes
Sway bar links
Sway bar bushes
Maybe even tie rods

On a more tougher scale you can change out your shifter bushes too. But lots of work. Quicker and cleaner shifts make for a great ride.

The CDV delete is the best mod I've ever done.

A clutch stop can be made yourself (see links below) or you could buy an adjustable one from Twinz. I think it goes for R100-R150.

Both mods are inexpensive & can increase your 0-100 times by quite a bit, especially if you are suffering from 'sticky' shifts or grinding gears
