Feelers are there is gauge interest and to make sure your price is accurate.
So you dont post a sale and you get guys saying " way to much boet" OR " are you high?"

I think feelers are done to actually create the hype (which, in my view is unnecessary). Also, if it is a feeler why do they get offended when people comment on the price? Is that not the point to gauge the demand of what you are supplying? The market will decide.
There are cars (ie. e46 M3's) that have had the 'for sale' sign for close to 2 years now, why? The price is not right. I know of others that have been snapped up in a day...put up your asking price...the market will decide. :sorry:

I posted my E46 M3 for sale recently as a feeler. For me, the purpose of posting it as a 'feeler' as opposed to a definitive 'sale' is to gauge interest without committing to a sale. I wanted to see if there was interest in my car at my chosen price point, but I don't want to mislead potential interested parties by advertising under the pretence that I am immediately ready to sell.

I'm not really sure what the big deal is. Everybody who owns a car has a price at which they would be willing to sell at, and a feeler is a way to test out the waters as a seller and manage the expectations upfront of interested parties.
