Interested to know about the classes? I assume it will be something along the lines of , n54 - including 1m's? N55 etc?

if that is the case, how will you classes all single turbo N54's? :skit::=):

Good question!

We have decided to use the standard MSA classing as we would like to have this event annually, as such, we want to keep to the "standard", next we may have more non-bmw's. The classes are listed on the registration form.

i say we have one class for stock turbos and another for modified turbos(vargas,RB and single turbo cars) which would be fair
[/quote

that will equal the playing field, good suggestion :clapper:, however not sure of the logistics involved.
Its a major pain in the a$$ to re-invent the wheel. Like i said, we keeping a standard from event 1, next year if we have 10 bmw's and 35 non-bmw's, we will have to change the classes. Rather start with one and keep it as standard for all events going forward.

if its a pita to class differantly than at least in the final results it should be stated and recognition of the two fastest cars(stock and modified) of the day should be given to each of the two classes

Great idea! I will pass it by Riaan and Kish as they are handling the scritineering and class classifications. Riaan is clued up with these processes as he manages the same duties over at Sport Compact Series and Tuner Wars. Kish, well he is our resident raceboy!

I'm against an N/A Lumina? :fencelook:

Also, why would a 2JZ E30 be classified as a 4 cylinder?

hey guys,
while there isn't any hard and fast rules as to how we want to do this and this is happening at ODI (non MSA) after all, we would like some sort of standardization of the classes for future events and to level the playing field.

all things considered, 90% of the field are x35 variants sporting different levels of hardware, would it be practical to classify the E series and F series differently? a factory turbo vs. modified turbo class? singles vs. twins? slicks vs street tyres? we also while doing this have to keep it entertaining and similar style to what we would race if doing this illegally on the street? lastly there will always be an issue of non disclosure in terms of modifications ( bigger turbo wheels in stock housings etc) we don't want someone crying foul at a later stage because someone hasn't been playing fair...

so for most of the guys, have no fear.. you will not be prejudiced in your class, the big hitters will be put into their own play pen to box it out...

I only hope that the reg forms were completed honestly and with integrity.

Keep the classes simple guys.

Event is to be fun yet competitive.

If the okes lie about mods ie. Bigger turbo wheels etc. They just lieing to themselves and will be made clear by results.

The reason I said recognition for two types of x35 viz bigger turbos or stock turbos is because you clearly can't compare the two on the 1km

My sentiments is that the event is non msa sanctioned and should be looked at more an outing of LEGAL Racing, instead of trying to prove a point or set a record....the emphasis should be on us having fun together, not divide us ....

just my 2cents
