So any detailer worth his/her salt will know how important lighting is in the arsenal of polishes, machines and Microfibre mayhem
Building light's are great for spotting imperfections like Swirls RIDS, but sometimes you need a solution to check the correction progress in those hard to reach places or on the fly while correcting.
For those who don't know, 3m sell a Sun Gun which costs about $400
Now living in SA not only cant I find one of these devices they very expensive.
This is not a Sun Gun for those who are totally lost
So here is a pic of the original 3m Sun Gun
One night I came across a guide on how to turn a 12v Screwdriver into a Sun Gun, so I decided to give it a go.
I got a Skil screwdriver kit from builders and a few odds and ends this weekend
Parts List :
So here we go
Brand new screwdriver ready for surgery.
Remove the 8 screw and open up her up.
Remove the chuck and motor.
Halogen fitting.
Fitting soldered to the existing wiring.
Final product
The only issue is that I need a 4700k bulb as the one I used is way to bright.
