The infamous test drive

Dropped my car off at Cedar Isle Auto today; waited +/-45mins to be dropped off at work (understandable because they have 2 or 3 drivers); waited +/30 minutes for my car to return from a 'test drive'. When I was told about this test drive I immediately asked what it was for as the car was in for a leaking windscreen washer bottle. Service adviser had no idea and I lost my temper. Ended up getting into an argument with said test driver when he eventually returned.

My advice: never authorize a test drive unless the work to be performed requires it. It was my own stupidity that cost me time and made me lose my temper today.

Goodbye Cedar Isle Auto.

Once spotted a test driver smoking in the car at a robot, a minute later when I saw the plates I realized it was my car :censored:

Very sad to become aware of what is going on here with the cars....

Took my cars here several times in for repairs to various BMW dealers and always got it back with damage or misuse...only once it was fine, which was Cedar Isle Auto....

never had any problems with club motors fountains, will only use them

once took my 323i to zambesi bmw and got a scratched bumper which they claim I did.never went back, then 2 months later found that the clutch replacement that they did was incorrect and caused further damage, which fountains ended up sorting out

Dealers are unbelievable. When I still had my Golf I had to take it in to have a boot latch replaced. For some reason after replacing it a 30km test drive was necessary :thumbdo:

I lost my shit that day with them :argh:

A friend of mine had a mazda 3 mps a few years ago at the dealers to have an oil change, dropped it at the dealership (cant remember which dealer), and went outside to have a smoke,

while standing outside waitng for the vehicle, a little while later he sees his mps pulling out of the dealer with a focus st behind him, soon the mps and the st are gunning it down the road. 1 of the service advisors standing outside comments to my mate on how quick the mps is, and my mate chunes him '' Yeah i know, cos its my fukcen car!!!''

Needless to say , the 2 appies that were gunning the cars were given a tongue lashing of note as well as the service advisor

lol yeah the infamous test drive..

quite a few years ago i had a mazda mx6 which was my pride and joy at that stage..
coming around a lazy bend in pta, i got taken out by a bmw from the front, that had lost control around the bend..

turns out it was a wheel alignment tech from tiger wheel and tyre in a customers car, on a "test drive"..

The less they do to my cars the better! I don't even let them wash my cars!! :nonono:

Fully agree, the car wash bays are very reckless, looked worse than when it was dirty :nonono: , and a dirty cloth on the floor
