Small update.

A while back i had someone from Bimmergeeks assist with a communications issue on my ZGW (Central GateWay module). kept getting an error that it could not be initialized, so the guys at Bimmergeeks offered to assist and logged on remotely from Atlanta, and corrected the issue via ISTA+.

Have some errors still on the EGR, but its not effecting driving, and my DPF Regen is still operating and decreasing the soot levels accordingly.

Fr the meantime, i contacted @FiRi@Rennzport for some gloss black Dual Slat kidney grills, and needless to say, im very please with the result at what a small item can do to the front end.

Excuse the state of the garage, its a work in progress also :D

Top priority for me is the Carbon Clean and Intake system clean, which hopefully will be end of this month, but with it not being an absolute urgency, i can take some time. may just do the EGR Delete and get it done along with the Downpipe and software all same time, if i can do this shortly after the Carbon Clean and Intake clean, then its keeps things clean in the intake tract for alot longer.

Some nice to haves which i would like to do in the future:
LED Headlight upgrade (PreLCi or LCi, will see how i feel (Or rather my wallet haha)
New wheels, leaning toward a set of CS style rims.
Both of the above are long term items, especially the headlights, as this will be a very costly affair, but will see what time brings me, :D

Thanks guys
love it . Those grills make a huge difference! looks awesome.

btw, who are you considering to do the dp and software?

Nice ride, Just. I have opted to keep the stock front grills in place on my car as I prefer them to the gloss black, but the upgrade on your car is an improvement in my view

Small update.
Got myself a spoiler for the bootlid. Nice and subtle, and makes all the difference in the world. Just picks up the look in the rear enough to not look bland, but not over the top.
Sprayed Gloss Black, but needs a respray as it wasn't done the greatest. But it's OK for now.

Pics for those photos whores out there 🤣

I went to Nick's place, again, it's my second home in all fuggen honesty. Lol.
Got both cars washed, and had a few night shots too just for messing around and good measure.

Hey gents, so a quick update as i havent updated in a while.
Ive been getting constant EGR errors on the car since purchase, i thought it was adaptions, so had that reset, i unplugged and replugged the connector etc, but all to no avail, so i bit the bullet and purchased a new one from Goldwagen, only one available was at GW Vereeniging, so off i went on a road trip to purchase, R3700 later. which was still cheaper than the dealers at R12500.

The Errors: Most related to the EGR Valve, the other Alternator error ill get to in a moment.

Didnt get an image set of the EGR install, but it went easy enough, and with no issues, straight forward with no need to reset or code/register anything. Big thanks to @osiris for his spare hands on the install, really is an awkward place to get to, and an even more awkward coolant line between the bloc and the valve.
We also did a full engine bay clean and power wash as she was filthy.
On initial start up, checked errors and they were all cleared, and to this day have not returned at all. and no more Drivetrain Error on the dash, which i know was related to the EGR when i left it too long before clearing the codes.

Next item, which bugged me, was on the Protool screenshot, you will see an Error stating, Local Interconnect Network, bit-serial data interface message: Alternator missing.
I assumed i had a low battery, or alternator issues, but after some research and poking around, i found the following:
VideoCapture_20220622-085218.jpg
You will see the purple wire, this was hidden behind everything so was obviously previously broken, and instead of repairing it, they just hid it.
This wire is the BSD Interface wire which allows communication from the Alternator to the ECU (DDE) for power management along with the battery and IBS (Intelligent Battery Sensor).

So i removed the plug from the alternator, and stripped and dismantled the plug connector, and rewired the Pin and placed everything back to where, and how it should be.

Cleared all my codes, and again, to this day, ive not seen the Alternator: Missing error or the EGR error since the above fixes were done.

Apart from a pesky Junction box error for rear Window Regulators (Dont ask, coz i dont have rear power windows, as im a Coupe). i cant find the cause for this, so no idea how to fix it yet,
the car is error free, and has no more issues in Protool for Battery, EGR, or power issues. Car runs smooth and power delivery is linear, fuel consumption seems marginally better also.

I also managed to find a spare front Rim as the one i had was badly repaired and leaking air somewhere, so received the new rim yesterday, and went and had it fitted and all is well, but will monitor and keep tabs on it, but so far so good.

With the car on par and pretty much stock again and all parts in perfect working order, i can take a back seat, and relax for a couple months before i decide to do a little bit of modding.

next item i do want o put some attention to is the inner rear tail lamps, as the LED light bars are burnt on each side, so only a little bit of light on the ends light up, so the OCD in me wants them working properly, so i am on the look out for for a set, but all in due time.

My next interests for the car are:
Rear inner tail light replacement
Window Tint
H&R Springs

Thanks guys.

Nice job. I would have just deleted the EGR and be done.

I also have a BSD error. worht looking around for the wire then.
Yea i was going to do it, but i like having the cars i drive be 100% fully functional from factory with no errors before i start modding.
From there if i do software, ill deactivate the EGR, but not physically remove it.

Have a look at the plug on the alternator, there should only be 1 wire (purple) comin from it, will be worth unplugging it to to make sure its plugged in correctly also.
