Where can I find an E39 540i/6 in good nick before I slit my wrists

If only they would put an uprated e30 M3 engine with turbo into that FWD,... you will have a FWD Bmw whacking the Focus ST...:=):

Guys, the new 1 Series (F20) is still a RWD car. As far as I know, BMW is planning a smaller FWD to fall in below the 1. As regards the motors, I am sure the 4 cylinders will be good, but will surely never be as smooth as a large capacity engine. Give me a soulful six or gruff V8 anyday over these clinical modern lawnmowers. A 60's American V8 is a dinosaur, but it still makes my hair stand on end. Just my 2c worth.

They can go ahead with the FWD idea on the smaller cars because it makes sense from a cost perspective and competing against other brands...they just mustn't bring the FWD non-sense to the bigger engines.

Fully agree...didnt this happen to ALFA. They use to build top notch RWD's. The GTV, ETC. Now its all FWD. Even the top performance models, the real sleek looking coupes are FWD:yuck:
