Just a few more pics that I received from the previous owner. Man, what a great photographer.
So an early ownership review:
The gearbox on this car isn’t that sweet. It isn’t bad but it could be better. My problem is only really the second gear downshifts don’t feel the best. Not sure if it’s my driving style or an E92 M3 issue that I need to try and fix. Hoping I just need to adjust the way I shift gears.
The “M” button works well enough (mine is set to power button on, MDM, and EDC in sport), the steering wheel gets heavy and the throttle response sharpens right up, the EDC dampers firm up the ride and all the comfort is lost, so I use this function sparingly on the road, for track use I’m sure it really makes things exciting. The thing that I do like is that with the M button activated your heel and toe downshifts become so simple because you don’t have to give too much throttle input to get the car to “bark”. It is so addictive. The downside is that you can’t really drive around normally with the “power” function activated as small inputs cause too much of actuation on the throttle.
Does anybody have insight on the MDM mode on the pre-facelift cars? It seems that the car doesn’t really slip much even with MDM on. Not sure if it’s the tyres are gripping too well or I am not being aggressive enough on the throttle. Not brave enough to fully switch off traction control.
Since the maintenance on the car is up to date
for now I will be getting an Android head unit installed in the car. I thought about upgrading to CIC, but it doesn’t seem worth it for the cost and features. I got into contact with Firi and he is hooking me up with an android unit. I will update in about 3 weeks when it arrives. Looks like a bit of a job to install so I will be seeking professional help to install.
I had 3 highway runs with a 135i (N54), don't know the guy and I assume his car was pretty stock or close to it. He got next to me and dropped gears, so I knew he wanted to "test". I had 3 passengers in my car and he had 1. He had some cosmetic work done on his car so I assumed he had some mechanical work as well. But after the runs, I changed my mind, I think he had no work at all because once the nose of the M lifted (Which is instant :smilebounce

the gap just kept opening. We flashed our hazards and he off ramped at rondebosch and I continued on the M5 toward Milnerton. Was fun and a cool gent indeed. I'm sure if his car had minimal work the result would've gone the other way.
