Hey Avi,

Did you paint your grills or buy gloss black ones.

Looking for a set.

Thanks Regards

Hi Shaun,

I bought a forum members set. It's gloss black grills, not painted. Some other forum members have had success with painting their grills, just do quick search there may be a DIY

Thanks a lot.

No I am looking to buy a gloss black set and keep my chrome set for when I sell the car one day:)
Regards

That's what I did, just in case I do decide to sell and the buyer has his own preference. Check the advertisers section, there are guys that sell the gloss black. I think the new thing is the double slat M style grill if you are interested in that

I wouldn't mind either option hey. Thanks for the info, I have been looking but no luck yet.

Your car is looking great.

Update:

I got my car back last week Monday. Really happy with the work that Renew-it Greenstone had done (Communication was terrible but the actual work on the car was good). I don't have pics though, I didn't take pics while the car was clean, will probably take some this weekend.

In the meantime, I installed a JB4 bluetooth kit. Was super quick to install and it works well.

I recorded a log as well, not sure if it was done correctly. Will get some help from the dedicated thread on this topic.

Small update:
I’ve finally found wheels that fit my car. Guys that are driving the E85s, E82s and F22s know that finding wheels that fit on these cars are so difficult in SA. Generally, most reps have a 35 offset which means that they are too aggressive. I really dislike the poked fitment.

I initially thought that I would repair my rims and then change the color to a bronze, but it seems that wheel repair shops don’t want any business, they say they are going to pick up your wheels at a certain date and time but never do, some shops tell you they will call back with details of loan wheels and never do. So, I got tired of chasing these guys around. I was resigned to saving up and importing Apex racing ARC-8 wheels.

Then, by absolute luck I came upon these rims that a fellow fanatic advertised. OEM Advan racing RZ wheels for 1 series fitment. I contacted the seller and picked up the rims the next day.

Some boring detail for any other E82, F22 or E85/6 (non-M) owners may be interested in:
BMW 261M wheels (Cast wheel)
18x7.5j, ET49, weight 11.8kg
18x8.5j, ET52, weight 11.23kg
Advan racing RZ (Cast, flow formed wheel)
19x8j, ET45, weight 8.61kg (19lbs)
19x9j, ET50, weight 9.07kg (20lbs)
These wheels are a size up and 0.5j wider but they are over 2kg lighter per wheel. Tyre sizes are 225/35/R19 & 265/30/R19. Un-sprung weight savings :smilebounce:

TL:DR – larger, lighter and stronger wheels - pics below:

I still want to get a good set of coil overs and change the color of the rim to a bronze, because this colour pretty much looks black unless you are up close. What do you guys think?
