The age old question...

Coisman, I would keep the car if I were you. I went through a similar dilema a few years back after twice renewing my motorplan. Since the car (2002 320 Individual) has been out of motorplan, I have only spent money (R1750) to replace 1 window regulator and then the services with BMW just to keep the FSH going. The car still runs strong and I have saved more than a hundred thousand in the process by not getting screwed over on the depreciation of a new car. Dont be a slave to the banks forever.....its not worth it.

That is one of the reasons why my opinion has always been the you should keep the car, but I also understand that there is always possibility that there might be one of those "what if" moments that you thought of happening.

What is the insurance book value of the car? If I have that I can work out the trade-in and resell values. (If you don't mind me asking):mmm:

Then you have nothing to worry about on that car.

Have somebody like budler do a compression test, RGM is going to rape you, but they should do it too.

The dealership may do it, but will charge you for it I am sure, and at R700 an hour....

You have replaced all of the major wear components. and you have a manual gearbox, I would instead of paying hollard which will refuse every claim you put through to "driver abuse", do some further maintanance, replace oil in gearbox, diff ....

Yes your window regulator can break the day after the motor plan ends, and at the agents it will cost you zillions, but there are ways and means to mainain these cars without dealer buttsex...

I really really say keep her :)

+1

So 3 years later from when I was conciddering selling my baby... and I settled my baby yestarday!!!

I was suppose to still pay installments until July 2014, but used my entire bonus to rather settle the outstanding balance.

She is now paid for...and all mine!!! :joy:

She was exactly 10 years old in August, and is standing on 127k kms now.

I will not be buying anything soon, as I am getting myself dept free!!

Yea...no holiday this year... but I think it was the right choice to make.

PS: the only thing wrong with her, is the driver door brake has broken, but i am in the process of getting it fixed.
Last service was on 125k kms at bmw.
