Tell me about 320d

Hi all,

I took delievery of my 320d yesterday and loving it

Now the sales man didn't know anything about the car. He didn't even know how the sunroof worked, and when I asked him about the warm ups and cool down of the turbo he didn't have a clue. So I'd like to know from you guys if I apply the same principles as on my TDI?

Thanks

Bought it from Hatfield but not a BMW dealer
Pics will follow soon. I just need to wash it properly and wax it.
These people didn't even wash the car properly :(

please give the salesman a klap. he needs it badly. these guys piss me off. more worried about a commission than giving the client proper service.

If you plan on keeping the car, normal tdi rules apply. Drive very relaxed till it is up to temp (idling to warm the engine is bad for it), and let it idle 3 mins after a drive where you used more than 30% of the engines power, like on the highway.

Firsly congrats, great buy. I take it the km's are over 100k, so out of motorplan??
Also, maybe stop at Leo Haese Hatfield, tell them you didn't buy the car there, but can someone please demo the car for you to show you everything, and if they refuse, then post it here, and I will call them the next day. :)

I'm currently in Bryanston, I'll try and go to Cedar BMW tomorrow.

BTW, how do you dim the mirror when driving at night?

Just don't let them touch the car, they have tendency to fix 320d's with bits of old rag :mmm:

erm what do you mean exactly ?
Pardon me for this dumb question

Congrats on the car.

I also picked up a new 320d on tuesday, Salesman from autobahn took an hour going through the car with me.

On the mirror dimming, mine does it automatically. has a sensor that detect the light.

One of the guys on the forum took his car there to get a rattle looked at and fixed and it came back with a bit of cloth stuck into the engine bay.

If it is not automatic dimming (optional) then dim the mirror by turning the red thumb size light at the bottom of the mirror. (LED flasher)
