For the route he takes, dailying it would actually be horrible. Its pretty much bumper to bumper, no matter which route you take.

Yeah, my commute is 4km. If I drive out, then I'm just spending xhrs more in traffic in bumper to bumper unless I leave home at 4am to basically drive a highway and then return drive that highway at 430am to get to work at 5am. CPT guys who live in the south with understand.

I do wish I had more chances to get out, but life is life. I'll keep the car for most of the rest of mine (finances and practicality allowing!) so I'll get more chances to drive, this summer I was also away for 3 weeks which dented the Xmas period runs when the weather was really great and then over the last bit I was doing a lot of interviewing and the like from dec-jan which also chowed some time/attention.

Better start doing more stimulating if you want me to build you an E36, spitters are quitters (guys I’m talking about coffee, promise).

No audis here and even fewer dodgy cellphone screencaps...

The bravest amongst you can follow @M3boi but it'll be great to take a cruise on some of the more special roads when the weather turns back. As we approach winter the sun comes up so late that the chances in the AM to get a decent run in decrease. (add to that the wet!)

If you *AIM* is to drive the best is closer to november when the rain is pretty much done.

But I'd say Sep is great as it's less touristy and you'll not have to book super in advance + off season prices.

Congratulations, truly awesome car there. Driving your dream car is such a surreal thing. Like you know it's yours, but it just doesn't sink in 🙃

No real update from the service, tyres are wearing down evenly, 3mm everywhere. So I reckon it'll be next year for a replacement. Thankful for that, gives me a bit of breathing space.

The underbody has, as you'd predict, taken a beating (The plastics, that is). As I said elsewhere, it'll be replacing them all likely around the 6/7yr point.

Wet traction is literally non existant. In anything beyond drizzle I'd be *scared* on these. My next set of tyres will be PS4S (or 5S, if that exists) precisely because I want a more all-round driving experience. Just as an example, at relatively low speed (like 30-40km/h) with maybe 50ish% throttle on a sharp bend it came almost completely sideways just through a small stream on franschoek.

But yeah, I'll monitor for the next while - car likely not gonna see much action anyway as we approach winter. I do feel that it's slightly less grippy than when the tyres were new, but very hard to tell.

Even my 911 does this with PS4s, sometimes.
Taking a turn on a slightly wet roundabout with light throttle, will see the back swing out slightly.
However, on your Cayman (especially being mid engined), if you ease off the throttle, even if mid bend, the back should pull back in safely.

Regardless, PS4S will be a marked improvement in normal road driving. Those Cups need some heat in them to properly activate and appear better suited for the track than road.
