tail light clusters

Ok this problem is getting worse now. :bangdesk:
see the corrosion at the contact points in the pic below.



what is the solution here?
must I replace both tail light units?
can it be repaired?

is there LED replacements for this type of bmw - e36 316i 1996?

What you can maybe do is remove the light and maybe get a fine sand paper and just clean it up nicely. Is it causing problems?

As for the LED part I would like to know as well.

Pics a bit blurry, why not take them off give them a clean. Is it causing problems? error codes?

Sure there are LED replacements. EBAY lights

You could probably find locally as well.

yes its is causing problems - go over a bump and the lights stop working.

I have cleaned them up with sand paper but it's already corroded a hole through the galvanised steel plate!

the other side is even worse - its corroded a hole big enough so that the light contact pin no longer touches anything! I've had to bridge the gap with a piece of aluminium shim!
