The car is remapped. I hear it can be turned off, however how am I guaranteed that it really is closed? :dunno:

If I fit a blank I know for sure the job is done

You know because its a bmw and not a skedonk.

I'm sure if the valve is set to "closed" in software it will stay off.

Otherwise you might want to look into some other upgrades like a GPS for more accurate speed measurements. Maybe some pillows for in case the airbags don't work :p . Sorry I'm just joking.

If your tuner cant do it then its obviously its going to be best to get one. But I mean why pay R500 - R1000 if you're tuner can do it for free?

I recommend all pre facelift E90's to do the swirl flap removal as pre lci's use the M47 engine which has been in production since 1998 as well as on all the e46 320d's which were plagued with issues.although the issue hasnt been as common on the e90's it is still cause for concern that its the same engine.Mine has the TU which is the technical update engine of the M47 but i dont see any improvements made in the in the swirl flap department.

I had a e46 330d and at 98765km it sucked in one of the swirl flaps.... Apparently the are made of carbon fiber, it DESTROYED the engine. Luckily I had like 1000 odd kms still left of my motorplan. So BMW replaced the engine assembly, turbo ect. Total cost R128 000 :shocked::shocked:

Needless to say 2 days after I recieved it back I sold it

If you can remove them, I would do just that

What year model was this BMW of yours Christo, mine is a 2003 and its running at around 139 000km now?:=):

Thanks
