The screws holding the flaps on were peaned over on the other sides though so the scews would never have come out on their own. Dont know if that was done on some later models to avoid problems.
My flaps were screwed to the shaft. They were peaned (omgeklink), so I just grinded them ever so lightly to get them to unscrew. I used the smallest torx bit in my set to unscrew them.
