Swirl Flap Blanking plate alternative

Hi there Sunny South Africa,

Been a while since I've posted on here but have dropped in to show you guys an alternative blanking plate to the metal ones

http://www.i6automotive.co.uk/bmw-diesel-modifications/

These are a lot cheaper than the metal alternative and we are using these more and more. Haven't had any comlaints so far so possibly those looking for a budget alternative.

The bad news is that there are more and more E60's coming in with swirl flap issues. I guess that the "new" swirl flap that was designed to not have this issue is not working as planned...

How will I know if my car has 22mm or 33mm swirl flaps? Without opening to check?

You don't have a diesel therefore no swirl flaps......

So I've thankfully managed to remove my swirl flaps that I ordered from this site. Firstly my experience ordering from this site has been excellent, emails were responded to promptly, I even purchased the AUX input cable and delivery and cost was excellent!

My car is a '05 E46 330d and it needed the 22mm blanks.
Thanks again to Shaun (Racing Snake) for helping me with the job, here's some pics that Shaun took while removing them:

I'm a happy chappy now and will atleast have some peace of mind that these are out, I can confirm that this has does not affect the performance of the car at all.

Hi, what was the cost incl. shipping and duties? Did you inspect your swirl flaps for any signs of fatigue fractures and loose grub screws?

Cheers

total cost for swirl flap delete is R1400 if I mod your exisiting flaps and utilise the original caps.

or

R1050 if you supply the new blank off caps.

labour charges are the same for both the 320d and 330d motors as well as the 1 and 5 series respectively.
