Suspension blues - reference required

Hi all,
Does anyone have a good reference to have all suspension bushes replaced in the Pretorioa/Centurion area. No stealers please. The universal joint (between driveshaft and gearbox) is also gone. Looks like anything rubber has to be replaced after 10 years / 250 000km's. While I am at it, I would also like to have the rear wheel bearings replaced. Suspension parts in Vom Hagen st seems a bit dodgy. Any one to cure my bouncing bimmer would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

Sure mate.
Call up Jacques 012 346 6450, he has a workshop in Dely road c/o 18th street.
He worked on my car last week, did the oil level sensor, oil change, and lower control arm bushes.
Tell him Francois Spietkop sent you, he can get you the parts also VERY cheap, but best quality.
Good luck. :thumb:

If you want the guy that supplies Jaques with his parts, name is Willem 012 751 7243 :)

so any feedback??

I called up Jacques today. He is the first mech that sounds enthusiastic to fix this for me. His shop closes for the holidays (don't know if that boosted the enthusiasm :) He was able to give me an idea for what I am letting myself in for, so I know what is involved.

Sounds like he knows his stuff and is not too far from where I stay, so it's a perfect referral. Thank you.

I am a keen DIY booytjie, but don't foresee removing the pumpkin all by myself - it's a bit heavy.

I will take old platkar to him in February.

Cheers

Glad you happy. If you meet him you will see, he is exactly as he sounds,
friendly, helpful, a no bulshit kind of guy, and he knows his stuff.
I am full of it when it comes to anybody touching my car, and must say,
even thought he himself wasn't the one working on my car, the mech that was also knew his stuff.
And Jacques takes it personally if one of them screws around.
So hope all works out for you, and that the price wasn't too high :thumb:

I figured the propshaft coupling is a doudou, so I obtained one from Willem. He is now in my area - WilleArea.
The vibration is driving me nuts and I am afraid that something else (like the centre bearing) may be damaged if I ride like this for too long.
So on Monday I am off to Jacques for fitment.
Will also determine what needs to be done suspension wise.

Old platkar really needs attention now.
Will keep you posted.

Jacques did a beautiful job, The car feels much firmer on the road and is not so "loose" at the rear.
