Sunroof...won't close...

So just as a hot summer's day turns into a thundershower I hit the close button on the sunroof and...nothing...NOW?REALLY? Anyway I find some shelter and check the fuse,it's fine. Turn the car off and on again,nothing...but the open button works,you can hear the jolt on pressing. So I dismantled the switch hoping to find something obvious...nada...and I won't be able to get someone to look at it till Tuesday, and as luck would have it it's threatening to rain constantly...

Anyone else experienced this?

Which BMW is it? On newer models you can do a software reset by keeping the Sunroof button pressed in for about 45 seconds. It will tilt, open and close during this time - just make sure you keep the button pressed until the complete cycle is over.
