Sunroof installation

Hi

I got a kwotation from Webasto for a sunroof for my BMW 318i E46

The price was R11450.00 fitted its the one that slide in the roof.
My question is?? Is that a decent price or is there more places in Cape Town i should try first??
Do any body now of more places in Cape Town i could get prices from

Don't do it. Most people have endless problems with leaking with aftermarket sunroofs. Plus you lower the value of the car since someone has cut a hole in the roof. I love a sunroof but I would never have one installed. It is not worth it.

Deosnt a lot of Dealerships send their cars to Webasto to get roofs done.

I wouldn't get a sun roof retrofitted at that price, especially not in an e46.

Rather get a car with a sunroof when upgrade time comes, you won get your money back, when you sell.

does the price include a replacement e46 sunroof headliner with sliding cover?

Webasto is standard fitment to most car's, however I would suggest you ask them to show you how it's installed into a vehicle and i guarantee once you see how they hack at your roof with a jigsaw you will definitely change your mind

Saw in the speed and sound webasto in Jozi charges R7200 fitted.

Got a quote from Webasto in Durban @ R4500 electric tilt and slide in

This was for a Golf, but then i did get to see how it was installed on another Golf and they cut 2 of the beams that ran across the roof which left the roof kinda flimsy and could bounce by pushing on it with your finger

one thing i know is if the car dint come out with a sunroof factory fitted......Just leave it like that. Unless its a golf.

Cover the roof with gloss black vinyl to make it look nice....Like a panoramic style.

While we on the subject of sunroofs , if any one needs a complete working sunroof coming out of a E32 750il, I have one for sale. Should be same as e34/39 ect.

Who can repair an e46 sunroof for me? Any recommendations please.
I do not feel like stripping out the entire unit again:

Previously Sunroof boyz and Sunrise sunroofs were recommended.
