Morning all

Im itching for other wheels for my car. I would love the type of Style 166 19's, (E60 M5) but suppose they will be impossible to get.
Anybody perhaps know where I can get a set of reps perhaps?
I want to stay as close as possible to the oem look, but wants 19's, as the 18's look to small on my car.
As far as Ive read, they must by 8.5 and 9.5, with a offset of ± ET15.

Any other suggestions guys? I dont want a "too much over the top" look, as said, as close as possible to oem look, but with 19's

Below is how my car looks like now, and assaid, the 18's look tosmall for the body, I would even gofor the exactsame style asI have now, but in 19's

e60 M-Sport :in-love:

I would keep it stock myself, BMW hardly ever goes wrong stylistic wise , well apart from some of it's newer abdominations that is.

and I love those wheels myself

Also have the same, think the 18's do look a bit small (especially the rear) and also would like to go 19 but this car has extremely odd off-sets etc and you wont find anything locally. Think Sash also battled and went with a 19 6 series wheel but had to do some fiddling.
Overeas you can get multitudes of styles and rims for the e60 which does frustrate one. Best bet is the M5 rim but not sure if the front sticks out a bit, one could only try and see. I once sourced a set from the scrap yards and they wanted R10k for the set - had tyres but they were a bit shot. Unfortunately I did not have the 10k spare!

When I had the E60 m-sport and those rims I always wanted the e90 M3 rims. Quite a similar style but in 19s.

I must say this 5er looks good, but I guess its owner has an itch he wants to scratch. Go for the M5 rims :)

Ja, I always itching for something different, when I had 3 series cars, I was itching for a 5, now that I have a 5, Im not itching for any other car, but itching to do something different on the car. Wish it worked the same way with women, trade the old one in for a newer younger one with better performance once a year:roflol:

My current wheels on the car have a few scrathes on them, to refurbish them decently will cost me ± R3000, the dealership where I bought the car put 3 new of those crappy Fullrun budget tyres on there, and there are one Goodyear Runflat. So thats irrirating me, to put new tyres on there will cost me ±R8000. So that means R11k.
I I can buy a set of 19's somewhere with decent tyres for ±R18-R20k, and sell my ones for ± R5 or R6k, it will cost me ±R14k, and I have 19's. Thats how my sums work:roflol:

2 words stiaan......

good luck

lol, you are not going to find replacement easily, especially the offset. If the offset is 2 low, it means getting spacers, which extra cost.

For some reason way beyond me, our local guys that bring in reps.., dont bring in reps for the e39 and e60, so they will bring in a M5 rep( e60 and F10) but not in E60 or F10 offsets?

If you are willing use spacers, you could try to space out the stock wheels. Abmi did this on his white 550i, i liked that look,

Suppose the luck was on my side this time, found a set of style 166 E60 M5 wheels, all 4 narrows, with a ET 12 offsett, bought them, ordered 4x 255/35/19 tyres, and fit them yesterday, to my surprise, no rubbing, and it looks amazing (according to me anyway).

With my old wheels 8j, with a ET20 offset, and this M5 wheels 8.5j, with a ET 12 offsett, I my maths is correct, the 19's stands about 14mm more to the outside, so I was afraid of touching the fender, but to my surprise not at all.

You are very lucky, although I would have expected the wides at the back?

Theres loads of room to play in those e60 arches. Abmi has got 9.5 in front and 10.5 in the rear if i remember correctly. The offset is the real issue. How much did it set you back and what are the condition of them?

Am I the only one not able to see the pics....?

oh and let me know if you are thinking of selling your 18's

I saw this on Gumtree a few sundays ago, reacted quickly and spoke to the women advertising them, sounded legit so I deposited her the R6k she was asking (according to her they were laying in the garage for 7years) , Time Freight asked me R900 to collect and deliver from Roodepoort to Gansbaai. I ordered 4 x Pace Alventi 255/35/19's from the local Supa Quick, so in total they costed me about R14500 with the new tyres.
2 of them have slight buckles but planning to have all 4 refurbished soon, althought they balanced them correct so I dont feel any vibration or anything.

Johan (Solo Man) bought my 18's from me, looks very nice on his dark blue E60.

Looks very good, although I am also interested to know why they are all 4 narrows or fronts..... did the seller not have the wides for the rear? or was it your choice to go the same all round?

Any pics from directly behind to see the effect?

I have seen guys make up sets from damaged sets. In stiaans case it worked in his favour because the M5 wheel rears are 9.5J 28offset which will sit 11mm further out and 27mm closer to shocks, where as the set he has will sit about 14mm out on the rear and 2mm away from the shock.

The car will have the wider look on the rear as the wheels stick further out, but wont have the fat takkies as the 9.5j would require. but 255 on the rear isnt narrow in my books.

Ok... to a degree at least one can swap wheels front to back if required which is very convenient.:thumbs:

I also asked that question to the seller, but she dont know, as it sounds to me like they bought a E60 in 2009, second hand, with this wheels, and she said the car was driving to bumpy, so they chanded to 18's (according to me, it doesnt make much of a difference between 18's and 19's)

I will take a pic direct from behind this weekend.

Now just a bootspoiler like Sash's, and two straight pipes at the back, then my wish is fullfilled for now
