Stuck...

Ok, so how on earth do I get that back cover off? Yes, I know about the blue, white and black clips at the back. I think I first need to lock the clips on the edges, and that's where my problem lies:

Anyone attempted this before?

Rick540 is your guy...

Give him a shout, he will tell you exactly how to do it.

Just one thing... DO NOT take of the needles, or so they say.

I am pretty sure you can recalibrate it using INPA cause you can set the percentage that the gauge must display, so its adjustable, in theory...

Rick once spoke me through the procedure, but that was many moons ago...

Cover off. However...

This crack is not good, since it means the screw can't put enough pressure on the ribbon cable at the "top":

... and that crack goes on:

... all the way to the "bottom":

Other side also has a hairline crack on the ribbon side and a small crack on the non-ribbon side:

:bawling:

Will any E39 LCD panel/support work on there?

Maybe this explains why my LCD backlight is non-existant in the top row of the LCD display. :(

You can superglue the thing back together.

The issue is not actually the pressure alone but the glue on the ribbon that hardens and lifts the contact area of the ribbon off the board.

I give it a quick clean with acetone (Not too much or you will remove the contacts on the ribon) then hold it in place with tape and reapply pressure
