Any idea why the tower nuts won't thread properly on an e46 323i 2000?This picture shows it torqued up to 30nm, but it does not look right to me.

remember that you are adding a plate to the mounts, the bolts will sit higher.

are those tightened correctly?

Yip, we tightened it, and mine on my car sits way better. The top of the studs actually stick out the top.

you can knock out the bolts and put longer ones in... im guessing that it does not sit 100% flat on the towers because of the dimples...

I have to get the protector plate (rear brake) fitted and do the wheel alignment. Parts are on order @ BMW

Update: I have been @ Centurion LH - I have to wait 10 working days for the part to arrive :yuck:
