Streeing box rebuild e34 520i

Hi Guys

Does any one know if you can get a streeing box rebuild kit for my e34 1992 520i

I was lucky enough to get a kit from ZF South Africa for an e30 320i a few years ago . Maybe still available for other models . I found the " Steering rack specialists " were a rip off .you may need a small circlip pliers if memory serves me right . Good luck .

Did quick check on ZF South Africa for e36 steering racks etc , there are steering racks and repair kits listed - some are no longer available-maybe stock still lying at a distributer .

I just called them on 011 4570000. They need the ZF part number off my rack...but gave me a ballpark figure of R2.5k on a reconned unit. Was told to call on Monday and speak to a guy named Bruce, apparently he's their technical guru.

Comes with a warentee, I say go for it

Just spoke to Bruce at ZF, very very helpful. It's nice to call a place and actually speak to someone who wants to do business with a potential customer :thumbs:

Quoted serveral possible part numbers for my car, so I'm going to cross-reference against the BMW one the stealers quoted. Either way I'm looking at R2,750-00 (incl. VAT) and they can fit too (at extra cost obviously) plus do a system flush which is nice.
