Kinda proves what we already know,when it comes to handling,the M is way ahead of the competition,always has been,always will be.
I'd like to clear up a misconception though.Owning a C63,I wouldn't blame you for thinking of it as a barge. My reply to you would be simple,go drive one.Its feels nothing like a barge. I have not taken the car to the track but I do drive it hard and enjoy going sideways on my private track of course.It handles brilliantly,not as good as the M but it is an AMG car at the end of the day.
If I was one to track my car,I would have taken the M hands down but I don't and won't so the 63 and it's straight line speed serves my purpose just perfectly thank you :rollsmile:
Something unrelated,what grates me a little bit is the guys that always throw it out there,handling this,handling that,around a track I'll give him a hiding etc etc without ever seeing the entrance of a race track.There are alot of forum members like Sean (M3FTW) and a couple others that do infact track their M cars but I'm guessing they a handful.Good on them and much respect.THEY have the experience to give us more insight to how capable a M is really around a track.

Whatever you say , most experts agree that the c63 is tail happy.
The roads I drive down everyday aren't drag strips but are made up of straights and sweeping bends and the M mixes it up perfectly .

Hey Jerez! The post was not directed at you,sorry if sounded that way.Anyway,thats exactly my point,the jap drivers are.Infact anyone with a day's experince on the track has a right to comment imo.It's more the guys you meet everyday and at meetups that you hear saying track this track that that gets to me.And besides most of the racing done here amongst us is quarter mile,1km,street or highway which is what? Straight line.

in the end not many of us are chasing 1/4 mile times or lap times its more about the feeling we get from the car every day... if you after strait line speed the c63 is the tool to have and if you after a smooth composed car you can push hard anywhere the M3 is for you...

Very very nice to see this comparison. Lets just skip over that Skyline as it was PATHEIC to say the least. Noticed from the in car shots, the drivers of the ISF and 63 were really having to wrestle those cars around the bends, even on corner entry the ISF and 63 were washing out badly due to understeer and totally missing the apexes... However on the straights, that 63 is just monsterous, what the M3 made up in the bends that 63 just took right back on the straights. BMW did a good job of the power they put into the M3s, I think with more power the car would just become abit more "nervous" in the corners, but sadly this doesn't mean much as a vast majority of M3 owners will never push their car to the limits of this video, thus negating the handling factor
+1 to Outlaw335, 63 is a brilliant choice for straightline and everyday use.
Personally I would have the M just for the cars character :thumbs:

At the end of the day, if I found either of these parked in my garage I would be over the moon! The M3 is (and always has been) legendary on the track and on the road, the C63 is more of a grand-tourer and comfort orientated, but with that said, for normal faster driving on normal roads I reckon there is absolutely nothing wrong with it and the tail happy softer ride will be far less of an issue.
