@#$% stole/tried to steal parts off my M3

Hi guys

It makes me sick to know that to what extent someone, and it must be a "BMW M3" owner I think, will go to steal something off your car.

Like I mentioned before, my baby sits in the garage most of the time and comes out usually on a Sunday for a couple of hours to play.

Last weekend I had noticed that the cover on the front bumper where the towing eye goes was missing, now these things can't just fall off and usually a flat screw driver is needed to remove it. Inspecting it further there is a small mark on the VPS right next to where the cover fits, suggesting that someone did use something to pry it out. The next day i found out why it was stolen, it's 380 odd bucks from the stealers, with just primer so I had another headache to get it painted and VPS again.

Now to make things worse, when washing the car this weekend one of my kidney grills(matt black ones) were loose, lucky they didn't know how to remove it or damage it in the process...

That really sucks. :argh: I were quoted R314 in the beginning of the year for the same part for my e46 M-Tec-I bumper. Was not impressed.

The cover normally has an expanded "eye" at the end that ensure it does not fall out. See if LZ can help color code him for you.

Lol, thanks guys. Yeh, i would have defiantly have take my moneys worth out on him.

Frikkieh, good point there, i did notice the "eye" on my 330 as well, so the M3 must have this as well i presume.

I'm sorted with the painting already, one of my mate's manages a BMW dealers panel shop so he's having it sorted out once its been received by parts.

it is really sad that another bmw owner would rip you off like that, sad thing is there are more posers nowadays than fanatics so they dont care to rip another driver off... :thumbdo:

Same thing happened to my friend the other day, he was at PFG building glass in Springs for work and someone did the same to his 320d E90. He wanted to kill.

Sorry bud,

You are still one of the lucky ones.

A friend had door trim stolen of his E36 M3 last year.

And then the following week they took his whole car, from his house :nonono:

I had to replace the scoop on my E30 three times.
But I can't get to touch even my worst enemy's car.

Being fanatic about something comes from deep inside man. :sorry: for your loss.

The fender badges on my previous M3 (e46) where pinched and with in the week while I was waiting for the new badges to arrive, the entire LHS fender vent was stolen.

Those parts fit on the e90 or e92 so not necessarily an M owner that zapped it. I lost my bumper tow pieces a few times and painting it is more expenive than the unit itself. Very frustrating.

Yeh it is very frustrating to have them sorted out.

I don't think it could have been a non-M owner. The M3's are the only models in the 3 series range that come with a round cover, the rest are sorta of squarish and the grills might look the same on some models but are different.
