Are all E36 M3s accelerator pedals so stiff? Is there anything one can do to change/modify it :are-you-for-real-:

Cable is about R400 if I remember correctly.
Sometimes it can just be lubed. Its abit of a ball ache to change. Spring is abit stiff, but the action should be very smooth.

Did you do it yourself then?

Hi rick540, if you don't mind me asking, how much did the cable set you back?

The cable was R435. I tried oiling, lubing the old one but it never lasted more than a few days. it is a mission to change but well worth it.

Mine was fine, but dealer says its a ball ache. I was going to replace for stretch, but there is an adjustment for that.

i lubed mine and it was 100 times better.

but your throttle and linkages can be tight and will cause the pedal to be stiff.
check that your rail moves freely before replacing the cable.

Mine also squeaks, I've put lubed the springs and that made a big difference, but that squeaky noise is irritating.
