:mmm:After changing my water pump,maybe Im wrong,my gearbox goes into limp mode.Dont know if it is heat related but it only happens after a long drive.Can someone help. (Hope its not serious.):thinker::dunno:

I did the pump myself.Could it be related.E46

It's hard to say. With the amount of tech in cars these days, the simplest thing can throw everything off.

Get the codes read (If you haven't already). Might point you straight to the problem.

There is a tiny possibility but I doubt it.

You do have a cooling circuit that runs through the gearbox, but if you had air in the system you would much more likely have an engine overheat then a gearbox overheat causing it to go into limp mode.

Nic's right... have codes read first.

Gearboxes often show no errors while they may be completely stuffed. Best is to have a automatic gearbox specialist have a look at it...

I drove it to work and back (20 km) away,and its ok.So what gives.It changes smoothly in to all gears.:thinking:
